Our Wooden Nickel Promise
The Wood Nickel at Pleasant View started in 2011 when the owner, Dustin Whiteaker, brought his daughter Amber (3 1/2 years old) to look at a dumpster truck. When they walked into Beam Truck and Body in Woonsocket, RI, they were greeted by a great man named Rod. Rod talked to Amber for a bit, gave her a wooden nickel, and told her to keep it forever, and that’s exactly what she’s done.
Our version of the wood nickel is a small token of appreciation to our valued customers. If you’ve rented a dumpster from us, you’ve probably received one of our wood nickels. If you can use it, we would love to do business with you again! If you don’t need it, please “pay it forward” and gift it to a friend, maybe even a stranger, but please don’t discard it. The wood nickel(s) must be redeemed during the dumpster pickup.
Meet Our Team
Dustin Whiteaker
Owner
Dustin’s hard work ethic and desire to become an entrepreneur stems from summers spent as a kid working on his grandfather’s yard in Berlin, MA.
In 2005, while working full-time as a Clinton firefighter, he started his landscaping business. Then, he began dabbling in the dumpster business, and in 2007, he purchased his first dumpster truck. He sold the landscape company in 2012 to focus on the dumpster business, and by 2018, Pleasant View Waste Removal was successful, secure, and growing steadily.
Dustin started Pleasant View Potties at the beginning of 2021 when he saw the need to provide clients with the top-notch service Pleasant View is known for and be the reliable and trustworthy porta potty company in Central Mass that people deserve.
Dustin’s daily duties are to ensure both companies are running smoothly, continue to grow each of them, and refine their systems efficiently.
He loves being able to give back to the community, and having the ability to help when someone is in need is the greatest feeling of being a business owner.
Dustin believes that local businesses are the heartbeat of America. People in a community supporting local businesses allow local businesses to give back to the community. It’s what Americans are all about helping and supporting one another.

Potty Tech
Shawn Showers has been with the team since 2022. He is the GO-TO guy to ask about restaurants, road trips, music in Leominster. Shawn also has a fantastic eye for photography and has likely taken most of the photos you’ve seen on our social media.
Joseph Valentin
Dumpster Driver
Joe has been with the team since Summer 2023. He holds a CDL license and drives Truck #16 for the Pleasant View Team. Joe is the proudest daddy to his little girl, Adrianna (who is a fantastic athlete). When he's not at work, he's probably watching sports (GO CELTICS) or adventuring with his daughter.
